Google Nexus 10 Tablet Review

The rear part is smooth and has fine finishing with rubber plastic, logo at the center and on the top we find a rear camera lens with LED flash. In the landscape mode we find speaker grilles present on both sides of the device. We find several ports and connectors all through the sides of the body; the top corner is covered by a power button and volume rocker and the bottom part with a magnetic Pogo Pin Charger for the Nexus. The left side is fitted with a USB port and a head phone jack, the right side is equipped with HDMI port. The device can also be charged using the USB port besides Pogo Pin charger. The front part is designed with a large screen above with a camera lens and below with sensitive keys in which we found a LED key for notifications. This is a beautifully crafted tablet with all the necessary buttons for easy use.

Display :

The 10.1 inches TFT touch screen powered with Super PLS offers a high resolution display of 1600×2560 pixels. The picture quality is good and the display is perfect, sharp and crystal clear with a pixel density of 300 pixels per inch. The color saturation is balanced in a good manner and the viewing angles are fine. This supports a multi touch system where the touch responsive is very quick. The Gorilla Glass 2 protection prevents the screen from scratches and noise. This may be the best display compared to the other devices and the screen experience would be exciting for anyone.


Software and Hardware Features :

Nexus 10 has been boasted with 4.2 Version of Android Jelly Bean with many customizations and apps. The multi tasking and multi screen support, notifications and all the widgets like lock screen widget etc. are just at the point. The start screen is presented with a time and date icons in white letters followed by the home screen. The home screen could be customized as your wish and total five home screens can be counted with all your favorite apps.

The Google Now feature can be used simply by swiping the home button upwards which features local Bus schedules, weather report etc. , on the left swipe you get notifications and on the right swipe you get quick settings.

Apps and Features :

As it is sponsored by Google we find all the Google features like Google+, Gmail, You Tube, Picasa, Google Chrome, Google Maps and what not everything you need and expect. The Google Currents is an app used for searching the latest magazines and the Photo gallery app with all new options and settings is quite interesting.

The new advanced feature like the Swype that accepts our gestures and there by accesses the device according to our gestures is fun using it. The connectivity features are equipped with all the basic and advanced features that include NFC on both sides, Bluetooth, WI-FI with hotspot system and internet etc.

The multimedia features include the Play Music app for listening and purchasing the music tracks, Play Movies and TV app and the new app called the Movie studio for editing the movie. There are also apps like Play Magazines and Play Books for reading the magazines, story books and all the e-books. The necessary and basic audio and video play backs are present with good audio quality.

Hardware :

This is equipped with a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor supported by 2 GB RAM to enhance the performance of the device. The internal memory is availed with an option between 16 and 32 GB of data storage.

Battery :

This is one of the enhanced features of Nexus inducing a powerful 9000 mAh Lithium ion battery that gives a back up of 9 hours with continuous usage of video player, web browser, music player and going through all the apps. This could be one of the greatest assets of the device to embed a powerful battery but ticking thing is it is non-removable battery.

Camera :

The 5 MP rear camera is a good feature with some new features that enhances its usability. The modes offered by the camera are fine that include the auto, action, Party etc. The advanced feature is the Photo Sphere feature that makes it possible to shoot a 360 degrees panorama image that can cover a big building from top to bottom and side to side. The images are good with a decent picture quality and they can have add-ons like geo tagging etc.

The 1.3 MP secondary camera would be nice to have some video chat and self shots with good clarity. There is also a feature for video recording at 720 p quality that is okay type of feature that is included in the device.


Call off :

Google Nexus 10 is an amazing tablet for those who don’t like Apple’s iPad and this is available in a price range between Rs.25,000 to Rs. 30,000 app. This is the present trendy tablet with all the high end specs that surprises the users.
